“I am deeply superficial”- Andy Warhol
Fashion, from the outside, can seem like an extremely shallow industry. Those who disconnect themselves from it, see it as superficial, however, what they do not realize is how permanently connected they are to the world of fashion. No matter who you are or what you do, clothes mean something, and if you can read it well, you can see a thousand different perspectives. Fashion is not surface level, it is not disconnected from those on the “outside,” instead, it is intertwined in the fabric of life. Some would describe fashion as shallow, or a revolving image, but the reason people flock to it is because it's emotional; it's about identity; it's how you feel; it lets the outside into your world. It may be shallow but, if you look a little deeper, you can see the inner workings of people and society itself. When you look deeper, you realize how genuine it is. Thus, genuinely shallow.
